Super quick EFT Explanation
You can use this super quick EFT sequence for cravings, pain or uncomfortable emotions.
Pick a specific issue you want to work on (e.g. annoyance) and guess the intensity of your emotion, pain or craving on a scale from 1 to 10. (1= a tiny bit annoyed, 10 =extremely annoyed)
Tap on the karate chop point on the side of your hand, while repeating a set up statement three times with a positive end that you can relate to.
Even though I feel annoyed, I would like to love and accept myself anyway.
Even though I have this craving, I’m doing the best I can.
Even though there is this stinging pain in my left eye, I can choose to love myself anyway.
Now, speak to the issue with as much kindness, care and love as you can muster and tap the following tapping sequence, saying “I’m sorry, please forgive me, I love you, I thank you.”
- Tap on your crown… saying … I’m sorry
- Tap on your heart… saying… please forgive me
- Hug yourself and tap the under arm points… saying… I love you
- Tap your inner wrists together… saying… thank you.
It’s the part of you that feels annoyed that you give your love and attention. You don’t have to love the annoyance, but it does help to accept yourself, even when you feel annoyed.
Now rub each fingertip on either side of the nail, while breathing slowly and deeply, in through the nose and out of the mouth.
Check if the intensity of the annoyance went up or down or stayed the same and repeat as necessary.
If you find only partial relief, it’s important to have a deeper EFT session to get to the roots of the issue. This simple practice can be a regular evening meditation to clear away the day’s stresses.
The practice is simply to connect with Love / Source and to speak to whatever emotion/thought is plaguing you as if it were an innocent and confused child… saying… I’m sorry, please forgive me, I love you, thank you. These words come from the Hawaiian healing practice called Ho’oponopono. By incorporating the tapping of EFT into this practice, it becomes even easier and more effective.
Ho’oponopono means ‘to rectify an error’. According to the ancient Hawaiians, error arises from negative thoughts that are clouded by painful memories from past experiences. The practice of Ho’oponopono releases the energy of these painful thoughts which cause imbalance and disease.’
To give you an idea of Ho’oponopono’s efficacy, here is a real life story of a Doctor’s experience.
Dr Len was asked to work at a Hawaiian State Hospital for the criminally insane. This was a place where psychologists worked in a state of constant fear from the very real danger of being attacked by the patients. Dr Len agreed to work with the patients, as long as he could do it in his own way. He did not counsel patients in the normal sense, but rather read their files and worked on clearing the thoughts and emotional responses that came up within him as he did so.
‘I was simply cleaning the part of me that I shared with them,’ he said.
After a few months, patients no longer needed to be shackled, medications were reduced, and people who had been presumed hopeless cases were so changed that they could be released. Staff morale improved and eventually the ward was closed as there was no need for it to exist anymore.
We can only ever see the world the way we are. When we learn to make amends with ourselves and love, accept, forgive and appreciate ourselves, so much more becomes possible.
